There are many advertisements for iPhone where they say there is an App for <that>…. well the same thing is true with genealogy topics … there is a mailing list in RootsWeb for <that>.

As I have said before, genealogists love to talk about everything under the sun when it comes to genealogy.  Finding a mailing list that deals with your topic is like finding a new group of friends.  Examples of  topics are software, geographical locations, brickwall issues and record groups.

Patience is sometimes required when dealing with mailing lists.  You may get an answer back within minutes, other times it might take you several years to get a response.  People are getting onboard with genealogy daily.

More information on RootsWeb Mailing Lists can be found in The Official Guide to Rootsweb.com by Myra Vadderpool Gormley.
